Abstract: A specimen of a tessersted plate of asterosteid type was discovered from Xitun Formation, Lower Devonian of the Cuifungshan Section in Qujing, Eastern Yunnan. The specimen is preserved in the marl associated with Yunnanolepis, Qujingolepis, Youngolepis, Diabolepis and Eugaledspis.
    The structure and disposition of the tesserae is very similar to Gemuendina from Lower Emsian, Lower Devonian, Rheinland, Germany, particularly the form of the tesserae and the ornamention. There are two wide grooves between the larger tesserae which do not cut across the tesserae, so that they are not the sensory line canal, it may be the lines of growth just as in the dpnoan. According to the form and the tubercles of the tesserae, it is referred to Asterosteidae. Because there is only one specimen available, it is reported as an indeterminate genus and species in this paper.
