Abstract: This paper places on record Mesodmops, a new genus of a multituberculate family of mammals, Neoplagiaulacidae. Previously known multituberculate materials from early Tertiary of Asia have been all allocated into the family Taeniolabididae. No ptilodontoid multituberculate has been reported in this continent until the discovery of the Wutu specimens. The Wutu specimens were collected from Wutu Formation, Lower Eocene in 1992 and are concurrent with Changlelestes dissetiformis (Insectivora, see Tong and Wang, 1993), ischyromyid rodents, carpolestid primates, primitive perissodactyls and other mammals.
