Abstract: This paper focuses primarily on a description of Metexallerix junggarensis sp. nov., collected from Chibaerwoyi of north Junggar Basin, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. In addition to the descripüon of the specimens, the phylogeny of Brachyericinae is discussed.

摘要： 记述了准噶尔盆地北缘吃巴尔我义索索泉组的Metexallerix junggarensis sp. nov.。该种在形态上较兰州早中新世的M. gaolanshanensis原始，较蒙古早渐新世三达河组的Exallerix hsandagolensis进步。其亲缘关系与亚洲的短面猾类较近，而与北美的短面猾类较远。应用分支系统学的方法分析了短面猬亚科各属间及其相关类群的系统发育关系，结果表明，短面猬亚科为一个单系类群。依据新种的进化水平，索索泉组动物群的时代应晚于三达河动物群，而早于兰州动物群。
