The late Mr. Liu Zhicheng (1982) established a new leptolepid-level fish— Longdeichthys luoiiaxiaensis, based on the specimens from the "Upper Jurassic" of Ningxia (V2333) and Nei Mongol (2334), and considered that this genus belongs to the family Leptolepidae. During the field works in 1990—1991, we have collected a large number of specimens of Longdeichthys from the Jiufotang Formation of Yixian, Chaoyang and Heishan of Liaoning Province (Northeastern China), of which the materials from Boluochi of Chaoyang are detached and scattered bones, partially well preserved, and concurrent with the early birds —Cathayornis Zhou, Jin and Zhang, 1992 etc.

A small and primitive ankylosaur, described as a new genus and species Tianchiasaurus nedegoapeferima, was collected from the Middle Jurassic Toutunhe Formation of the Sangonghe Valley of Fukang County, Xinjiang. The locality is near the famous Tianchi (Heavenly Lake) of the Tianshan Mountains. This is the first ankylosaur discovered in the Middle Jurassic of Central Asia.

Daodi is considered to be a late Pliocene locality near Nihewan, a classic site well known for its abundant and diverse Plio-Pleistocene mammalian fossils. An assemblage of micromammals was collected by the first author from eight quarries at Daodi by screen-washing in 1984. Preliminary reports on 26 species of small mamma Is collected and more detailed studies of lagomorphs have been given (see Cai, 1987; 1989). This paper deals with the material of the rodent family Muridae in the collections.

A new galeaspid genus, which has been excavated from Bobai, southeastern Guangxi, is described in the present paper. The fossil-bearing strata consist mainly of pale silty mudstone and greyish sandstone, yielding abundant fishes (Guangsipetalichthys bobaiensis, Bothriolepis sp., Hunanolepis tieni, sinolepids, sarcopterygians, etc.)and some invertebrates. According to the associated placoderms, the new galeaspid is regarded as Middle Devonian in age. It is the first convincing record of the Middle Devonian galeaspids in China, thus has an important biostratigraphic and biogeographic significance.

A rather complete dinosaur skeleton was discovered from the Dashanpu Quarry in 1984. The new material contains 10 cervical vertebrae, 13 dorsals, 5 sacra Is and 25 caudals, together with a whole set of left forelimb, right scapular and pelvic girdle, this individual is considered as a new species of Szechuanosaurus, S. zigongensi; and is described here in this paper. Diagnosis of S. zigongensis A medium sized megalosaur, about 6 m in length; 10 cervicals, the last two planocoelous, with ventral keel; 13 dorsals, 5 coalesced sacrals. Distal caudals with elongate prezygapophyses. Deltopectoral crest of humerus well developed; length ratio of radius to humerus is 56%. Meta carpal IV short and light. Ilium especially low; pubis with foot-like distal end. Distal end of Ischium expanded.
